Obituary
Robert “Bob/Beez” Beesley, 60, of Roundup MT, died January 26, 2014 in McLeansboro, Illinois. He was born on February 19, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Richard and Geneve (Hickenlooper) Beesley. He grew up in Santa Cruz, California and graduated from high school in Kanab, Utah. Bob joined the Army and was stationed, very proudly, as a cook in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was an expert marksman and was honorably discharged in 1972. He met the love of his life, Wendy Despain, and they were united in marriage May 4, 1974 in Prescott, Arizona. He was employed with US Motors as a machinist. In 1977 they moved to Price, Utah where he worked for 23 years for Plateau Mining Co. He worked for San Juan Coal in Farmington, New Mexico and then spent a year for Broadmeadow in Queensland, Australia. They moved to Roundup in 2008 and he helped set up the Signal Peak Energy Mine. He worked in New South Wales, Australia for another year. He was recently working for White Oak Resources in McLeansboro, Illinois. He was very proud to be a coal miner. Bob's hobbies included, spending time with his family, cooking, camping, and horses. Most importantly, he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of the LDS Church. Bob is survived by his wife, Wendy; children, Richard F. (Adele) Beesley of Stansbury Park, Utah, Meri N. (Dennis) Conroy of Bozeman/Belgrade, Holly M. (Leslie) Davenport of Rapid City, South Dakota, Ryan S. (Carly) Beesley of Huntley, Montana; brother, Russell (Laurel), sister Elizabeth (James) Good; brothers John (Jill), Mark (Joyce), Bruke (Nancy), 15 grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathrine Beesley and Karine Beesley. Everyone who knew Bob will remember him as being warm hearted, generous and loving. Viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31 at the LDS Stake Center on Wicks Lane in Billings. Cemetery: Interment will be in the Roundup Cemetery with military honors.

I worked with Beez for many years at the Utah mines and enjoyed his wit and humor. One of my first jobs at the Plateau Mine was working on the belts with Beez. It was quite a learning experience! He was a very intelligent man than was never afraid to take on a new challenge. I enjoyued his friendship and appreciated his support during the good and tough times we spent working together at the mines. Beez will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Wendy & family, What a shock to read of Bob's passing. My heart goes out to all of you - one of the people I missed the most from Plateau was Beez - he was always so helpful and kind to me and I felt a deep friendship and connection to Bob, and to you also, Wendy. I still have the stained glass window hanger you made in my living room window. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Love to you all, Shirley

Bob such a great person. Always kind word, and a smile. Spoke of his family often, and I also got to see pictures of the horses. Bob always told me, if he could of had his own crew at the white oak mine, I'd be on it. That would always make my day. Bob made a great impression on me, and I am so grateful that I got to meet him while he was at the white oak mine. I am so sorry for your loss.
