William Morrow

William C. Morrow, 63, of Joliet, passed away September 7, 2016. He was born in Billings, MT on September 9, 1952 to Raymond & Lois Morrow. Willie spent his youth in Billings where he found his passion for baseball. He played legion ball for the Billings Royals where he earned his place as an avid alumni and was inducted into Legion Baseball Hall of Fame. After baseball he found his true calling as a “Man of Steel” among his “brothers”, his fellow Ironworkers. Along his way he found the love of his life, Patricia. She was the glue that held Willie together and the rock that tied him down, and both of those were not easy tasks. September 24, 1982 is when he knew he had found his true love and on October 19, 1982 his baby girl Ada was born and on October 29, 1983 his son Eric was born. He finally had his whole family, his “Brothers”, and felt on top of the world, which sometimes he literally was. He then became a hero as most would say, but not him; he was too humble for that. He caught a brother that fell from a beam above him and saved his life but left him with a back injury that years later became his nightmare. November of ‘99 while working with his brothers he had an accident that permanently disabled him. It took a long while, but Willie found some of his brothers that also were “laid up” from such a backbreaking career on the iron and was able to find peace once again. He enjoyed being able to be there for his wife and kids that were popping out grandbabies at the time and most importantly being able to be there for his brothers. Willie always made family his #1 priority and sought his 2 children through adulthood. William is survived by his true love Patricia, his best friend and brother for life Rod Hardy, sister Patti, daughter Ada, son Eric, grandbabies Amythyst (Mammy), Seth (Baby Boy), Ty (Ty Baby), Briar (“Snoop-dog”), Ethan (Bubbas), Alex, Ric (“chicken-s#!t”), and his newest Griffin Carl Sue Morrow. Under his wishes there will be no services but family is having a gathering to honor the man and the legend Westside Willie on September 25, 2016 at Lisa's Sandwich Den at 2908 1st Ave N, Billings, MT 59101 at 1 pm.
