Carol Mosher

Carol Mae (Reeder) Mosher, 84, longtime resident and rancher from Augusta, passed away early Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Billings, having moved to Highgate Senior Living to be closer to family in recent years. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dahl Funeral Chapel of Billings and a memorial service will be held Monday, May 2 at 11 am at the Augusta Community Church, where she was a member, with a luncheon to follow at the Augusta Youth Center. Carol, known affectionately to family and friends as Nana, was born in Bozeman on February 4, 1932 to Grace and Harrison Reeder and graduated from Montana State University in 1954 with a BS in Home Economics Education. At MSU, she met and married Roland C Mosher, from Augusta, and upon their graduation they moved to the family's T Bar Ranch where they raised a family and continued to build a legacy in the agricultural industry. She is survived by her sons, Kent Mosher of the T Bar Ranch; Jeffrey (Laurie) Mosher, of Shepherd; and daughter Rhonda (Pete) Tully, of Willard, New Mexico; and, 9 grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) Mosher, Russell (Randie) Mosher, Katie (Tucker) Noonkester, Mick Mosher of the Shepherd area; Karlee (Perry) Shank of Dillon; Ross Mosher of Augusta; and Charlie (Brittney) Tully, Weatherford, TX; Riley (Kyla) Tully, Loop, TX; and Torian (Preston) Monroe, London, UK. Nana had several great-grandchildren with more to come, all whom she loved dearly for their infectious and endearing personalities. Both Carol and Rol competed on the Montana State Rodeo Team where she won the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Barrel Race in 1952, and that rodeo tradition has lived on strong throughout the family. Carol was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority in college, an active member of Sapphira Nile Temple of Helena, Order of Eastern Star, past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls, and numerous other women's organizations. But ranching and the agricultural industry was Carol's passion and she was a prominent and well respected leader, lobbyist and spokesman for the Montana and American Cattle Women Associations, Montana Stockgrowers Association, The Montana Beef Council, The American Quarterhorse Association and other noteworthy livestock groups and was a recipient of numberous awards for her hard work and dedication. Carol, a force to reckon with whether it was as a champion for the Beef Industry, co-owner operator of the T Bar Ranch Company or matriarch of a large and growing ranching family was described by many as a Great Lady. Memorials in her name may be made to the Montana Cattlewomen or a charity of your choice.
