Catherine Mueller

Catherine “Kay” Elizabeth Mueller (Loney) was born on February 23, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She passed away suddenly, but peacefully, of natural causes on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Billings Clinic Hospital. Mom graduated from St. Catherines School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She and Harold B. Mueller were married in St. Paul on June 6, 1945. They were blessed with seven children. She worked at St. Josephs Hospital in St. Paul and St. Vincents Hospital and Western Manor in Billings. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara (Lenny) Kaiser of Rapelje, MT; Michael (Elaine) of Santee, CA; Thomas (Laura) of Virginia Beach, VA; Larry (Monica) of Washington, IL; Mary Kay (Guy) Haney of Billings, Bob (Gail) of Portland, OR, and daughter-in-law Lori Gessner of Coeur dAlene, ID. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, and 12 (with one more on the way) great-grandchildren. Mom was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered for many years at St. Vincents Hospital. She was a long time member of TOPS. Some of the other things she enjoyed were bingo, bowling, playing cards, baseball, knitting, gardening and reading. She was most proud of being the Matriarch of her family. No one was a stranger to our mom for very long. This became evident when one of the first things she did after moving to her new home at West Park Village was to sign up as an ambassador, so she could meet as many people as possible. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her son, John; and her grandson, Aaron. Cemetery: Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation: Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2010 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Service: Rosary and vigil at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 18th and Broadwater.
