Kathryn Murray

Kathryn Ann Murray passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2019. She was born February 5, 1950 in Pinedale, Wyoming to Roy "Dude" and Dorothy "Dottie" Clementsen. Kay was raised in the Clementsen family home in Pinedale. The home was built by her grandfather, Thomas in 1912. Her grandfather was the first Marshal in the Pinedale area. As a child, Kay loved spending teatime with her Grandma Clementsen. She would visit her grandmother in the "little house". She also spent lots of time with her cousins. Kay was very proud of her family's history in the Pinedale area. In 1969, Kay married Leo Smidt and moved to Butte, Montana. That union brought her her son Roy Edward "Eddie". Kay gained many friends in Butte. On January 14, 1980 she married Darrell Joseph Murray. With this union she gained three stepdaughters and two stepsons, Theresa "Terri", Neta, Jeanette, Anthony "Tony" and Timothy "Tim". Kay loved to travel the NW Pacific Coast area with her husband Darrell. They would snowbird in the Astoria, Oregon area. They both liked to visit family and friends and talk about Darrell's Coast Guard days. Kay spent time crafting, creating custom cards and stamping. She liked to try any kind of craft you could imagine. Kay was also an avid reader. You could always find her "curled up with a book". In recent years, Kay loved to spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed time with her grandkids. Whether they were playing go fish, coloring, or just watching TV, these times were her favorite. She was especially fond of hugs. Kay is preceded in death by her stepdaughter Theresa and both parents. She is survived by her husband Darrell; son Edward (Janet); stepchildren Neta, Jeanette, Anthony (Missy) Timothy (Jessica); grandchildren Zachary, Jacob, Emily; step grandchildren Cyndi, Danielle, Kenny, Jaimie, Jeaneta, TJ, Ethan, Melanie (Jason), Michael, Chris, Vickie; as well as 14 step great-grandchildren. Kay will be deeply missed by friends and family. We will miss her but hope she is enjoying her family reunion in heaven. Memorial arrangements will be made at a future date.
