Orville Neyrinck

We lost our dear Orville on May 16, 2012 to health problems that followed pneumonia. Orville was born in June 3, 1927 In France, where his Belgian parents, Edmond and Maria Neyrinck, were seeking a new land to continue their love of farming. In 1929, when Orville was 2 years old, they moved to the United States and found their long term home in Judith Gap, MT. Orville was well known for his quick humor and up-beat attitude. He always wanted to make people laugh. Orville lived a very full life with many special memories: as a child he talked his sister into carrying out pranks that he dreamed up; his trip to Billings with high school classmates to cut a record showcasing his talents on the guitar; the time he spent living in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house while attending college in Bozeman; the awards he won for the stunts he performed with the line-controlled gas powered model airplanes he built; his trip to Butte to enlist in the Navy; his marriage to Jean McKeever; getting his private pilot's license and flying the plane he co-owned with a group of friends; the births of his 3 children and watching them become the adults they are today; his role as Grandpa when we had Neyrinck family reunions near Glacier Park, at Lake Superior in Minnesota, and at Big Sky; family events where he got extra pleasure from his special relationship with his sons-in-law; his last plane ride in an open cockpit biplane at an air show in Three Forks. He enjoyed hanging out with others who shared the pleasure of his company; he was always able to endear himself to everyone around him. Orville loved music, especially classic County Western. Orville worked for 33 years for The Midland Bank, now known as US Bank. In his later years, Orville lived at Aspen View Retirement Community and enjoyed the new friendships he nurtured there. He then moved to Grand Park Vintage Suites where his last months were filled with happiness. Fellow residents chose him as Legend of the Month, citing that “Orville is always upbeat and happy. He tells great jokes that always make us laugh and never says anything bad about anyone.” They also honored him by crowning him Valentine King. Survivors include Jean Neyrinck of Billings, Joan (Jim) FitzGerald of Helena, Mary (Scott) Lorch of Savage, MN, Paul of San Francisco; grandchildren Tucker (Jennifer) FitzGerald of Seattle, Casen (Spring) FitzGerald of Helena, Zach (Greta) Westphal (of Baltimore, MD, Anna (Mike) Elliott of Helena, and Adam Lorch of Duluth, MN; great- grandchildren Katelyn, Aiden, Evan, Tithen, and Ivey FitzGerald and Lillian Westphal; sister, Micheline (Frank) Carr and their daughters, Karen and Rita who reside in California. Service: Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, may 19, 2012 at Holy Rosary Church.
