Michelle Nichols

Michelle Marie Nichols passed away in her hometown of Billings, MT at St. Vincent Hospital on June 11, 2019, she was surrounded by her parents and all of her children. Michelle was born in Gordon, NE to Verlin and Mary Belgarde. She grew up in Billings, MT and graduated in 1985 from Billings West High School, where she would then go on to become a cosmetologist for many years. She also worked at St. Vincent Hospital where she gained numerous life long friends. Michelle always said her favorite life accomplishment was her five children. She loved cooking, hosting her family for gatherings, and supporting her children in all of their endeavors. Michelle will be remembered for her kind heart, great sense of humor, and unwavering support for her family. Michelle was an avid animal-lover and loved rescuing dogs, giving them a good life in her home over the years. Michelle found gardening to be one of her favorite pastimes and spent many hours making sure her flower pots looked just right. She also loved fashion and was always up-to-date on the latest fads and trends. She often gave her children, sometimes not so subtle, tips on how to improve their outfits. Michelle is survived by her parents Verlin and Mary Belgarde of Billings, MT; children, Brock (Jenny) Belgarde, Madison (Carlos) Najar, Dustan Nichols, Payton Nichols and Isabella Nichols; siblings, Karla (Cory) Sokoloski, Bruce (Jennifer) Belgarde, Wayne (Darcy) Belgarde and Kim Belgarde; grandchildren, Cruz Najar, Camila Najar and Marin Belgarde; three nephews and niece Kelsey, Brian, Graham and Mckenna. Michelle was preceded in death by her big brother and mentor Mark Belgarde. We know Michelle is now at peace and enjoying every day with Mark. “She was a true fighter, you could see it in her eyes. She was not born strong, she was made strong. She was sculpted to be her own hero when the world let her down, and she kept picking herself back up.”
