Obituary

On December 1, 2018, the heavens welcomed another angel home. Karen Ann O'Connor was the eldest daughter of Donald E. O'Connor and June A. (Ausk) O'Connor. Karen was born on February 6, 1945 in Williston, ND. They lived on their farm outside of Horse Creek and Cartwright ND. Her brother Terry (Dianne) O'Connor of Clancy, sisters Donna (Barry) Wilkening of Piedmont SD, Diane O'Connor of Bozeman and Nan O'Donnell of Three Forks were also born on her family farm. They lived on the farm until 1956 and then moved to Bozeman, where in 1963, she graduated from Holy Rosary High School. She moved to Billings where she graduated from Acme Beauty College on June 30, 1965, then becoming a licensed beautician. Karen met and married James Wagner of Billings on March 30, 1968. About a year later they moved to California where their son Russell was born in 1970. Karen kept busy with motherhood and homemaking, both of which she did very well. Through the years she worked with Jim - keeping house and home together. They moved back to Montana in August of 2014, where she was busy with crafting Christmas ornaments and making quilts. We shall miss her as a wife, mother, sister, aunt and special angel. Now that she has joined her mother, father, niece Shannon Miller and nephew Robin Miller in Heaven, all of her loved ones left behind will miss her angelic presence more than words can say. We are all very sorry to lose her so soon. We have been robbed of someone so rare and precious that nothing can fill the void she left behind in all of our hearts. Karen is survived by her son, Russell Wagner of Goodrich, North Dakota; her brother Terry (Diane) O'Connor of Clancy, MT; sisters, Nan O'Donnell of Three Forks, MT, Donna (Barry) Wilkening of Piedmont, SD and Diane O'Connor of Bozeman; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15th at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary Queen of Peace Church fund: 1205 S. 34th St. Billings, MT 59101.

I am so sorry for your loss. Although its difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. "May God who gives hope fill your family with all joy and peace by your trusting in him, so that you may abound in hope" of one day seeing your loved one again. Romans 15:14

It saddened me to know that I will no longer hear my dear friends voice. The first day I met Karen in El Cajon, Calif. at work I knew we would be friends forever. It was always a laugh fest when we were together, even when she relocated back to billings our long distant conversations just picked up were we left off in Calif. I will miss her laughter, her jokes and especially her kind heart, Rest in peace my dear friend. Cynthia Santos, San Diego, Calif.
