Obituary
Madge Ortt, 72, was called home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours on Dec. 27, 2016. Madge passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital due to heart failure. Madge was born in Stamford, CT on January 3, 1944 to Edward and Marion Milne. She graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in education. She taught school for several years and ventured into retail sales where she had a women's apparel store, “The Lady Bug”. That may have sparked her interest in accounting with her career taking a turn becoming a Certified Public Accountant in 1985. Madge became an Honorary Life Member in the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants June 2014. She had a passion for accounting and practiced her profession with very high standards always with the clients' interest at heart, so much so that she picked up the name tag of “Mother”. She practiced accounting with her husband until they retired in 2010. However, she did continue to help with some accounting and tax work for Ortt & Co. CPA's Inc. through 2015. Family was very special to Madge and being around them gave her the greatest enjoyment. Madge enjoyed playing golf, going for walks, baking, fishing and being part of Emmanuel Baptist Church, the church's life groups and exercise group. Madge enjoyed very much and looked forward to the birthday luncheons with dear friends and luncheons with lifetime friend, Sharon. Madge was preceded in passing by her parents Edward and Marion Milne. Madge is survived by her husband, Bryant; her beloved son, David; her brother, Edward Milne; and her grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 328 South Shiloh Road, Billings at 11:00 a.m. on January 7, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, her loving church family, or St. Vincent's Hospital, that showed much love and compassion taking care of her.

My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your dear loved one. Losing a loved one is a distressing and painful time. We have assurance from God’s word at Psalm 34:18 that he is near to those brokenhearted and he saves those crushed in spirit. It is my hope that your family will find strength to endure during the days ahead.

Madge was a great lady. I enjoyed working with her on some ASWA committees years ago. She always had a friendly smile and warm hello. My prayers are with all of the family.
