Obituary

Jenny M. Osterholm, 84, of Billings, Montana, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2012. She was born on May 14, 1927 in Hardin, Montana to Virgil and Edith Cox. The family moved to Deaver, Wyoming where Jenny's parents farmed. After graduation from high school in Deaver she moved to Spokane, Washington to work for Western Union. She met the love of her life, Lee Osterholm, there and the two were married on August 24, 1950. They moved around a bit before returning to Montana and settling in Billings in 1977. Jenny worked for and retired from Billings Public Utilities and the couple remained in Billings for the remainder of their lives. Jenny was a devoted wife and mother of two daughters. She enjoyed cooking and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jenny's greatest legacy is her beloved family. She leaves behind her daughters, Connie (Bryce) Satter and Robin (Murry) Lyda; her grandchildren, Brent (Rosemary) Lyda, Jennene Lyda, Jayme (Jay) Henderson, and Christine (Hector) Cardenas; and her six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mickey and brothers, Don and Ken. We will miss you mom and you will always remain in our thoughts and prayers. Service: Per Jenny's request she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held this summer and her ashes will be scattered at Our Lady of the Rockies.

As a Hospice Volunteer, I became acquainted with Jenny over the past several months as we visited once a week. We seemed to have a lot in common as both of our dear husbands had died in recent years, so we often "shared our hearts" with one another. We talked about our families and precious grandchildren. She always loved showing me photos of her darling great grand children. We had special times of prayer together, too. We developed a close friendship and I will miss visiting with Jenny very much. She was a great lady.
