Obituary

Richard Pancheau went to his glory on May 22, 2019, after complications arose post-surgery. He was surrounded by love as he left the bonds of earth to join eternity with the Lord pain free. Richard was born February 22, 1954 in Kimball, Nebraska, son of Dorothy and Raymond Pancheau; and oldest brother of Tina Brilz, Scott Pancheau, and Teresa Pancheau. He was the leader of pranks amongst the siblings, seeming to never tire of coming up with new ways to fool someone. During his youth, the family lived in Newcastle, Wyoming, later moving to Glendive, Montana during Richard's high school years. He graduated from high school in Glendive and made many life-long friends from his time spent there. He later moved to Billings and worked with his brother Scott at Excel Electric as an electrician for many years. Friends and family were very treasured to Richard. Those that became friends with him were friends for life. He was loved and respected by those he chose to make part of his circle. Often referred to as “eccentric” he could come up with a solution to nearly any obstacle placed in his path. A true inventor lived inside his brain. He was ahead of his time creating ways to recycle water for watering his lawn. Present him with a problem, let him think about it for a week or so, and he would nearly always come up with a solution. When you hear the phrase “think outside the box” that sums up the way Richard thought. It was tough to keep up with the solutions he presented, but if you got him to explain it to you enough times, it usually worked. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Almira Pancheau; children, in order of birth, Benjamin, Samuel, Elizabeth, Jessie, Janell, Drew, Keisha and Kyle; brother, Scott; sisters, Tina and Teresa; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren; and numerous friends. A celebration of life will be held July 20, 2019 in Billings.
