Mark Adams

“God doesnt promise us an easy passage, just a safe landing.” And so our son, uncle and friend died suddenly after battling lung cancer for eight months. Mark was born to Bill and Yvonne Adams on January 27, 1950 in Richland, WA. Mark grew up right smack dab in the middle of four sisters; Roxanne (Adams) Evans, Billie Sue (Adams) Anderson, Stacey (McLean) Reiter and Terry (McLean) Roberts. Marks life was not easy. He was born with a few disabilities but it never stopped him from his love of singing. In his 20s Mark was burnt over 90 percent of his body by hot oil. In September of 2010 he was diagnosed with cancer and right after beginning treatment his trailer burned down, causing him to lose all of his possessions including his beloved dog and cat. Mark was ridiculed and bullied most of his life because he did things his way. His sisters and family however always rallied behind him. He was the kindest, sweetest, most honest person. He lived to sing and spent most of his time using his beautiful voice to sing karaoke. We will forever be indebted to his friendships made at the Muzzle Loader, Powder Horn Lounge, Montana Nugget on Grand, and the Crystal Lounge where he liked to sit, drink coffee and visit. Your friendship to Mark was of an immeasurable value. Mark really only complained a couple times in his life; once when Elvis died, and whenever the price of coffee went up. He was so very grateful for things that whenever he received a present he would respond, “Oh man, now why did you go and do that” or “oh jeez mom, why did they buy me something?” We want to thank Dr. Nieva and the staff at the Billings Clinic Cancer Center for treating Mark with so much love and respect. Somehow a mere thank you seems inadequate. Also a thank you to his wonderful new friends at Sage Tower whom made Mark feel so special and included. Mark is survived by his mother Yvonne Leischner whom he adored; all four of his sisters; nieces and nephews: Annamarie, James, Michael, Lindsey, Matthew, Miles, Max, Scotty, Jamie, McLean, McKenzie, and Mily; and many singing and visiting friends of Billings. Today if you encounter someone that may look or act a little “different” than yourself, offer that person a smile, a kind word, or a donation. Service: At Mark and the familys request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held.
