Oscar Berg

Oscar Eugene Berg went home to be with Jesus on May 21, 2018. Oscar was born in Volga, South Dakota to Oscar J. and Olga Berg on July 3, 1941, an only child. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963 obtaining the rank of PFC. He was married to the love of his life, Carol Carsrud, on March 7, 1960. Within the next few years Oscar welcomed his three children Todd, Crystal and Sharon into the world. He grew up in South Dakota and lived there with his family before moving to Montana in 1968. Oscar worked in many professions throughout his life including Justice of the Peace, mechanic, and dispatcher. However, most people knew him as a truck driver. His last job was working as a truck dispatcher for Corcoran Trucking in Billings, Montana. His family continued to grow and he became a grandfather to nine and great-grandfather to eleven. In his spare time, Oscar enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. He also loved having breakfast with friends at his favorite restaurant, Hitt's the Spot. His dog and constant companion, Buddy, was never far from his side. His faith in Jesus never wavered in his 76 years on this Earth. Oscar was known as a family man and loved by all who knew him. Oscar is survived by his wife, Carol Berg; son, Todd (Susan) Berg; daughters, Crystal (John) Brown and Sharon (Tom) Stinchfield; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar J. and Olga Berg, daughter-in-law, Deborah Berg and granddaughter, Beth Ann Berg Wick. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Dahl Funeral Chapel from 9am to 3pm. Funeral services will be held at New Life Church on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1 pm, followed by a graveside service, including military honors, at Mountview Cemetery.
