Sandra Pirtz

Sandra Marie Pirtz, 71, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, formerly of Billings, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home following a lengthy illness. Sandy was born on April 25, 1941 in Billings, Montana, to Frank and Arline DuVal. She attended schools in Billings and was a 1959 graduate of Billings Central High School. On July 1, 1961 she married Frank Pirtz in Billings and they were blessed with five children. Together Frank and Sandy owned and operated Pirtz Construction where she was the bookkeeper for over twenty years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing puzzles, bowling, playing Bingo, exercise, especially water aerobics, and she loved to dance. Those that knew her would describe Sandy as having an easy going and gentle nature. Survivors include her husband Frank L. Pirtz of Rock Springs, Wyoming; four sons, Frank Lee Pirtz, Jr. of Red Lodge, Montana, Randall James (Bonnie) Pirtz of Chandler, Arizona, Timothy Richard (Tara) Pirtz and Eric Mathew Pirtz both of Billings, Montana; one daughter, Christine Marie (Dallas) Ward of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three sisters, Sharon Oblander, Collette (Robert) Todd and Debbie (Frank) Kroll all of Billings, Montana; six grandchildren, Danielle Shelton, Alexandra Pirtz, Matalin Pirtz, Eric Ward, Trevor Clark and Kevin Ward; great-grandchildren Roman Shelton and Xander Clark; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard DuVal, one nephew John DuVal, one cousin, Tom DuVal, two uncles, Frank Rector and Don Sigourney and great-nephew, Parker Haskins. Service: A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 25, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 26, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with a reception to follow at Dahl Funeral Chapel
