George Rakes

On May 6th, 2013 our Lord called George Clinton Rakes home to be with his beloved wife Dorie Lou. George was born on November 23rd, 1928 in Baker Montana. George was drafted after high school to serve in the U.S. Army, where he was deployed to support the War in Korea. When he returned from Korea he left the Army to begin his lifelong career in the oil field. George met Dorie Lou in Joliet, Montana. They were married on January 7th, 1953 and enjoyed 52 years together until Dorie Lou's death on October 16, 2005. George built a successful pipeline construction business that he sold in 1984. George and Dorie spent many of their retirement years split between Yuma Arizona and Billings. George leaves a lasting memory of charity and love for his children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends. He lived life to the fullest until his passing. George was preceded in death by Dorie Lou and son Troy as well as his parents Stanton and Anna, brother Roy and sister Reva. George is survived by his other five children and their spouses, Sandy of Richland Washington; Wanda and Aaron Finnicum of Billings, Montana; Lonny and Wendy Rakes of Albuquerque New Mexico; Linda and Dale Raisl of Laurel, Montana and Stacy and Kathy Rakes of Avondale, Arizona. George is also survived by his brother Bernie and wife Jackie. George leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Cemetery: Interment will immediately follow at the Rockvale Cemetery. Service: The celebration of life for George will be held on Friday, May 10th at St. Pius Catholic church at 18th street West and Broadwater in Billings, Montana. The full mass for George will be at 11:00 AM.
