Marion Richardson

January 22nd, 2019, this world lost a very loving and beautiful woman. Marion Richardson made her final journey home to be with our Lord and Savior. Marion was born in Hardin, MT on March 11, 1926 to Esther (Georg) and Henry Pitsch. She had three loving and caring sisters, Clara, Dee and JoAnn. Marion would often talk about how growing up in Big Horn County with her three sisters on their family farm were the best times of her life. She would recall and tell stories of endless childhood joy and fun. She often mentioned how she would love to go back to those more innocent and peaceful times. In 1946, Marion married Rich (Clement) Richardson who was her soul mate and love of her life. During the next 48 years Marion and Rich lived a full and love filled life until Rich's passing in 1994. Marion was the proud mother of 3 amazing children, Genia McElroy, Rick Richardson and Glynis Burchell. Marion loved being with her children even if it was something as simple as taking them fishing at Canyon Ferry or having them catch ants to put in her Peonies so they would open sooner (still don't know if this is true or not). No matter what her children did she loved them unconditionally. Marion was also a devoted and caring grandmother to 5 grandchildren, Erika Williams, Mathew McElroy, Chuckie Burchell, Coley Burchell, Hal Richardson and Kiel Richardson. There is nothing Marion loved more than to spend time with her grandchildren; whether it was sleep overs in her backyard, camping and fishing at Canyon Ferry Lake, driving 90 on the interstate to make it on time to beauty pageants, attending sporting events or cooking Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. Even the times she forgot to add sugar to the pumpkin pie. Marion had a very special bond with so many people. Especially her dear friend and “adopted” daughter, Deb Kiel. Later in life Marion was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and they became the center of her life. There was nothing she loved better than sitting and rocking her great-grandchildren as they slept. Marion lived a wonderful life, touched many people's hearts and souls and was the truest example of love. She will be deeply missed by so many but never forgotten.
