Vina Riddle

Vina Mae (Coffman) Riddle, 85, of Billings, died January 14, 2012 of natural causes. She was born in Helena, MT to Baron and Vina Coffman on May 21, 1926. After 2 years the family moved to Billings, MT. She spent her younger years working with her parents at Coffmans Floral. She graduated from Billings Senior High School. She married Alexander Riddle in 1945 and divorced in 1957. In addition to raising her 5 children, she worked for Coffman Lumber Company, owned by her brother Robert, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Volly's Flower Shop, Hoppers Floral, and Gainans Flowers. She worked a short time in Big Sandy, MT for Bill and Barbara Cowan. She also managed PJ's Bed & Breakfast, and was a manager for several apartment complexes until she retired at the age of 62. She was married for a short time to Mike Schimetz. Vina loved gardening and taking care of her plants, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, knitting, camping and being with her family. Vina was preceded in death by her brother Robert Coffman and daughter, Sandi (Wayne) Peterson. Survivors include daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Ruff, Anita Pinnick, Debbie (Kirk) Shinler, and son Michael Riddle; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She will always treasure her friendship with Barbara Cowan. The family wishes to thank Autumn Springs Assisted Living staff who gave her great care and support.
