Obituary

Dorothy Loraine Nash Robison, 90, was healthy almost until the day she died on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at her Huntley home with her family by her side. Just a week before, she enjoyed a camping trip with her daughter Sandy. Her last hospital stay was when she delivered her youngest child 60 years ago. Born Nov. 10, 1921 in Thermopolis, Wyo., to Ezekiel and Lula (Mclaughlin) Nash, she moved with her family to Billings as a young girl. When she was 18 she met a dashing young Frank Robison at the Roller Rink in Billings. After a whirlwind courtship, Frank proposed. Wearing a pretty blue dress he bought her, they went to the Billings courthouse to get married. The officials could not marry them because Frank was a month shy of being 21 years old. They suggested a drive to another county and that he have a birthday on the way. The couple drove to Hardin where they were married that same day, Oct. 15, 1940. They were married 64 years when he died in 2004. The couple lived on Garden Ave., and later across the street from South Park where they raised six children. Frank was drafted and served in World War II when they were expecting their third son. She was a stay-at-home mother and proud of the fact that she was a sought-after professional domestic worker for many prominent Billings families. She cared for their children, shopped for their groceries, set up their parties and was a meticulous cleaner. Dorothy enjoyed yardwork and raising blue ribbons roses. She was a Billings Garden Club member and donated many hours to caring for flowers at MetraPark and in Downtown Billings. She loved camping and fishing with her family and especially with her brother's family at the Piper Ranch on the East Boulder. Nearing retirement, they were avid high school basketball fans and enjoyed watching grandkids and great-grandkids in sports. They were active in Teamster events and antique car clubs and members of Goggles and Dusters and the Roarin' 20s Auto Club. Her grandchildren fondly remember that she taught them to ride bikes, drive cars, work in the yard, iron and clean. She is survived by three sons, Dwayne (Brenda), Gimmer (Linnea) Robison of Billings and Pete (Becky) Robison and daughter Sandy Muniz of Huntley, daughter-in-laws Sue, Susan and Wava Robison all of Billings, 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great- great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a newborn son Gordon, two adult sons Doug and Gus and daughter-in-law Linda Robison. Service: A celebration of her life will be Wednesday, June 27 at 2 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Ave., Billings, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Rocky Mountain Hospice, 2110 Overland Ave., Ste 111, Billings, 59102.

Dear Robison Family...Sorry we unable to attend Dorothy's service to celebrate the life of a very special lady. Frances is currently facing some health issues so we will be at the clinic for more tests Wednesday and Thursday. Frances and Dorothy were good friends at the senior center and we just remember her as the most supportive mom and grandparent ever to all her children and grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and may all those fond memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. God Bless.. The Doll Family

Dear Pete and family, I was sadden to learn of your mother's passing, but also so pleased to learn that she was still living a rich life at 90 - what a gift! I have so many fond memories of special times with your family and between the families (Nashes and Robisons)when we were young adults. I remember Dorothy as energic, caring, fun and social. I have you all in my thoughts. I'm thankful you have each other to help you at this most difficult time. Be well, take care and just know you have my deepest condolences. Lana
