Mary Rogers

Mary Louise Rogers passed away on December 11, 2016, in Billings, MT. She was born Mary Louise Eyre on August 28, 1924 to Lucinda Catherine (Roney) and Leonard Warner Eyre in Powell, WY. She grew up in Deaver, WY and Mary met Stanley Rogers there. Stan had moved to Deaver from Worcester, MA at 16, working with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Stan and Mary Lou were married on September 5, 1942 in Evanston, IL. Mary always kept very busy, raising seven children and selling Tupperware and Beeline Fashions. She always made sure to visit the library every week and get books to read to her kids. Mary loved to visit her sister Helen's farm in Deaver. In her later years she enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law, Margaret Eyre and also visiting her children and grandchildren. She really loved baking and gardening and was wonderful at both. Mary was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Billings for 56 years and was an original member of the Altar Society and rosary group there. Mary is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane Kelly of Billings, Joan MacDonald (Gordon) of Walnut Creek, CA, and Lori Helmey (Mike) of Billings; three sons, Timothy Rogers of Lavina, MT, Michael Rogers (Janet) of Yardley, PA, and Patrick Rogers (Sarah Blackburn) of Billings; and many nieces and nephews. She has 18 grandchildren and soon to be 11 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Stan, daughter Susanne, infant daughter Patricia, sister Helen Wambeke and her husband Bill, brother Leonard Eyre and his wife Margaret, brother Roy Eyre and his wife Marie and grandson Nathan MacDonald. Mary was very loved and will be missed by many. A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 am. with Committal at Sunset Memorial Gardens after mass and luncheon to follow.
