There are angels who dwell among us on Earth. Gladys Rosenthal was one of those angels. She truly was an inspiration to all who knew her and was at all times gracious and thankful for everything people did for her. She was a mentor to many and a friend to everyone she met. Gladys Rosenthal, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 16, 2011, at Riverstone Hospice House. Gladys was born on August 29, 1916 in Hettinger, North Dakota to Albert and Annette Hallen. She was the sixth of ten children. She was married to the love her life, Jack Rosenthal, for 71 years. Gladys and Jack raised three daughters in Billings, on a ranch in the Stillwater Valley, and in Bozeman. She spent many years working alongside Jack until they retired in 1982 to Mesa, Arizona where they lived until they returned to Billings to be near family. Gladys' first concern was the well-being and comfort of her family. She always had a shoulder for her family to lean on. Gladys knit many sweaters, baked countless batches of cookies and hosted scores of family gatherings in her lifetime. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, who passed away on Thanksgiving Day 2011. She is survived by daughters Pat (Bernie) Allen of Billings, Linda (Gene) Heiser of Olympia Washington, Bobbi (Ken) Palagi of Butte; granddaughters Jacki (Steve) Keating, Alisa (Chris) Voris, Lindsey (John) Richards; grandsons Jason (Kathy) Heiser, Kyle Palagi and Justin Palagi; great grandsons Michael Keating, Russell and Bronson Voris, Dagim and Eyob Heiser. Service: Cremation has taken place. A family memorial will be planned for a later date when the family will gather to celebrate Gladys' and Jack's life together.

Pat and Bernie: We were saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. That she and her dear husband spent so many married years together is quite an accomplishment. She must have missed him being with her so much that her heart just decided it was also time to go. What a love story. Kind of the love story you two share! We are thinking of you. You may not remember me, but some of my fondest memories are times I spent at your home in Absarokee area. Dressing in front of the fire place on the cold mornings. Swimming and getting burned to a crisp in the pond by your place. I stayed with you in Bozeman when visiting my boyfriend now husband of 45 years. I am so sorry you have had to go through this twice in such a short time. I lost my dad Mar. 1 and my mother-in-law April 1. Know that I have been thinking of you all this last month. My dad was Ed Biggerstaff. I have such wonderful memories of your folks years ago. The Shriners, GI patrol, the ranch and beautiful Absorokee, and last but not least my dad learning meat cutting from your dad so they could cut up their game.
