John Rosenthal

John B. Rosenthal (Jack) was a rancher, businessman, woodworker and Shriner - but most of all he was a family man. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack passed away peacefully in his home on Thanksgiving Day 2011. Jack was born on June 6, 1918 to Benjamin and Amanda Rosenthal in Billings, Montana. He was married to the love of his life, Gladys Hallen Rosenthal for 71 years. He and Gladys raised three daughters in Billings, on a ranch in the Stillwater Valley, and in Bozeman. They retired in 1982 to Mesa, Arizona where they lived until 2005 when they returned to Billings to be near family. He made many beautiful things in his woodshop over the years. He learned to work with wood in the Boy Scouts when he was young and he picked up the craft again when he retired. His family will cherish these keepsakes forever. Jack had many accomplishments in his lifetime. He was an Eagle Scout, 32nd degree Mason and Potentate of the Al Bedoo Shrine Temple in Billings. Jack is survived by his wife Gladys, daughters Pat (Bernie) Allen of Billings, Linda (Gene) Heiser of Olympia Washington, Bobbi (Ken) Palagi of Butte; granddaughters Jacki (Steve) Keating, Alisa (Chris) Voris, Lindsey (John) Richards; grandsons Jason (Kathy) Heiser, Kyle Palagi and Justin Palagi; great grandsons Michael Keating, Russell and Bronson Voris, Dagim and Eyob Heiser. Memorials: At Jack's request memorials can be sent to the Shriner's Hospital for Children at Al Bedoo Shrine Auditorium 1125 Broadwater Ave Billings MT 59102. Service: Cremation has taken place. A family memorial will be planned for a later date.
