Obituary
Rickard A. Ross passed away on January 17, 2016 in Billings, MT. He was born on January 24, 1945 in Great Falls, MT to Robert S. Ross and Irene M. (Buzzetti) Ross. Rickard married Jan Christensen on March 23, 1968. He lived in Great Falls, MT; Billings, MT; Brussels, Belgium; Rabat, Morocco and Vienna, Austria. Rickard received several degrees and a Master in Science and Rehabilitation Counseling. He worked for the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office for 25 years. Rickard had many interests, especially family history. Rickard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Jan, daughter Teresa Ross (Glenan De Tienne), son Brian (Michelle) Ross, sister Kristen (Robert) White, grandchildren and step grandchildren. Memorial Service is 11:00 am, Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, inurnment at Mountview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Big Horn County Museum in Hardin MT.

Rick was a friend that I had the pleasure to work with in my career with the Billings Police Department and the Montana Deparment of Justice/Montana Law Enforcement Academy. Where do you begin when describing Rickard? To me he was a kind soul who never really had a bad word about anyone. As long as we've known each other , and that spans many years, he was always kind, considerate, with honesty , integrity and humor. He was a Gentleman.
Some great memories have surfaced in the past week.
Many of us have dreams of seeing the World, Rickard and Jan fulfilled them and kept us in the loop with wonderful fun filled emails
My condolences to Jan, Teresa , Brian, and Grandchildren. May your memories be the best kind, and may you find in them, Peace.

Rickard was my second cousin but we hadn't met until he and Jan had returned from Europe a few years ago. My father (James H. Ross) had passed and I was interested in knowing more about the family history. I can't express how much I enjoyed our friendship and learning about family history. He had a wonderful sense of humor and curiosity. I'm so thankful that we recently had the opportunity to meet and visit with Rickard, Jan, Brian, Teresa, and family on Ross-Server World Tour of Billings, Hardin, and Buster's Cattlefield, and beyond. Thanks Rickard. You will be greatly missed. I will think of Rickard every time I listen to Star Talk….one of his favorite radio programs. Peace and love to Jan, Brian, Teresa, and family.
