Obituary

Grace M. Schaff was born September 21, 1917 at Stockett, MT to Margaret and James Allread, the 5th of 10 children. She attended school at Stockett and Centerville, MT. She married Euel Feeler on September 30, 1935. They ranched and farmed at Belt, MT. before moving to the little Snowy Mountains in 1940 where they ranched. Grace truly loved the ranch life with the brandings, hunting parties and all the many people that dropped by and always had the coffee pot ready along with the sweet treats. She would worry about her girls when they took off for the day on their horses, Skeeter and Ruby. Grace taught school at Pine Grove, MT 1946 and 1947. They sold the ranch in 1955 and moved to Lavina. There she worked at Richards Cafe as a cook and the Lavina school lunch program. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts but most of all, crocheting that was her favorite. Euel passed away in 1967. She married Nick Schaff January 9, 1969 at Lavina. They ranched and farmed on the East Bench. They were married 44 years and had a very loving life together as they were inseparable and now once again they are inseparable and together for all time. They had many travels together: Australia, Alaska, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, Mexico, Oregon Trail, Washington D.C., and many other places throughout the United States. They moved to Billings in 2000. Two daughters survive Grace: Darlene Pavlak (Paul) of Lewistown and Sherry Harden (Don) of Billings; two stepdaughters, Marsha Sillivan (Neil) of Ryegate and Jolene Schaff of Billings; five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces and three nephews . She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick, one son, one grandson, one great-grandson, and one great-great-granddaughter, five brothers and four sisters. Service: A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle with burial to follow in Lavina Cemetery.
