Ethel Schrecengost

Ethel Schrecengost went home to be with her Lord on April 19, 2017. Ethel was born on February 2, 1928, to Charles and Mary Bowers of Rochester Mills, Pennsylvania. Ethel grew up in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, attended school and graduated high school in 1944. She continued her education at Indiana School of Nursing, graduating in 1948 as a Registered Nurse. Ethel married A. Dean Schrecengost in 1948 and they celebrated 61 years together before his death in 2010. Ethel was the nurse at St John's Hospital in Libby, Montana for many years, retiring as the Director of Nursing in 1993. Ethel's life with Dean took her many places. She worked at hospitals wherever they lived; touching many lives with her compassion, tenderness, and loving Christian heart. She is survived by four daughters: Sherry (Monty) Hingley, of Sterling, AK, Deana (Larry) Elder of Billings, MT, Linda (Dan) Schall of Zelienople, PA, and Julie (John) Highfill of Kalispell, MT along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for friends and family to share their memories of Ethel will be held in the Libby area this summer.
