Obituary
Daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, aunt, grandma and friend…Floreen Mae Schreibeis, 87, died at Valley Health Care Center in Billings, Montana on November 27, 2016. Floreen was born in Monroe, Nebraska on March 9, 1929 to George and Emma Mohr. She was given new birth into Christ through the washing of Holy Baptism on April 5, 1929. Later she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Kramer High School, Columbus, Nebraska in 1946 and then worked at Central National Bank in Columbus. Floreen was fond of retelling how she met the love of her life, Ben Edward Schreibeis, at her sister Vera's ranch in Ranchester, Wyoming. Ben and Floreen were married in Columbus on June 18, 1950. The newlyweds lived in Sheridan, Wyoming until 1968 when they moved to Billings. While in Sheridan, Floreen was employed at the Bank of Commerce and became a busy mother of six — Mark (1952), Howard (1953), Neal (1954), Clark (1955), Cindy (1959) and Nancy (1962). After moving to Billings, Floreen was employed as a bookkeeper at Kon's Sooper for many years. Floreen was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church since 1968 and often reminisced about the many dear friends and acquaintances she had there. In addition to her active involvement at church, Floreen enjoyed caring for her flower gardens (especially her rose bushes), spending time in the mountains looking for wildflowers (Forget-Me-Nots were her favorite), playing cards, completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and knitting. However, being surrounded by her continually growing family was, by far, her favorite activity. Her homemade caramels, dinner rolls, rye bread, dill pickles, canned peaches, pot roast and chocolate cookies were constantly requested by family. Floreen was predeceased by her parents, husband, two sisters (Lillian and Vera), grandson Adam and daughter-in-law Carol. Left to mourn, yet rejoicing in the hope of eternal life and reunion in heaven are her four sons, Mark of Kalispell, Howard (Jo) of Miles City, Neal (Debbie) of Post Falls, Idaho, Clark (Erika) of Billings; two daughters, Cindy Ewen (Steve) of Billings, Nancy Schuller (Rob) of Powell, Wyoming; 24 grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren (currently 30); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Floreen was deeply loved, is missed, but will always be cherished. She would be comforted to know that we will Forget-HER-Not. Funeral services will be held at 10:30a on Saturday, December 3 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2336 St. Johns Ave. Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod Seminary Student Aid Fund or Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
