Richard Schulz

On October 22, 2013, we lost our loving father, grandfather and brother Richard Allen Schulz, age 72, after a long illness. Richard will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. We remember him as someone who could always make us laugh while simultaneously reminding us what is really important in life. His own struggles stemming from the death of his son Chad made him somewhat a philosopher. Richard was born September 7, 1941 to Kenneth and Helen Schulz in Billings, Montana. His early years were spent in Three Forks until the family returned to Billings in 1954. After attending Billings schools, Richard established his own custom drapery business, working with many interior decorators in Billings, Bozeman and the surrounding areas. His first passion was spending time with his granddaughter, Hannah - making her laugh and enjoying their time together. He also loved riding his bike to Riverfront Park almost every day to photograph the beauty he found there. His cherished memories included times camping at Emerald Lake, playing cribbage, fishing, hunting and, most of all, just spending time with family and friends. Richard is survived by his children Bryan, Rick and Tammy and his granddaughter Hannah. Other survivors include his sisters Brownie Snyder and Donna Finch and nieces and nephews Robert Nikula, Todd Snyder, Dawn Steffanich, Jodi Schulz and Scott Schulz. Richard is proceeded in death by his son, Chad, parents Kenneth and Helen Schulz, and brother Gary Schulz. Service: Cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held.
