Shirley Sept

Shirley Lorraine Sept, 60, lost her courageous battle against cancer on December 24, 2016 surrounded by her family at her home in Shepherd, Montana. Shirley was born June 2, 1956 to LeRoy and Gladys Besel in Billings, Montana. Her parents farmed which resulted in relocating to different towns in Montana. Therefore, she had the opportunity to meet many new people, and make a lot of friends along the way. She loved to help out with the farming. Her very favorite things were playing with the calves and sheep. Shirley was inspired so much by the animals she joined 4-H. She graduated from Forsyth High School in 1974. She was involved with different school activities such as band, basketball, and cheerleading. On December 21, 1974 she married Duane Yablonski. In their 22 years of marriage they had two beautiful children Tanya and Justin. Shirley worked as a Nurse's Aide in Forsyth, and then belonged to the Laborer Local #98 and worked in the refineries power plant and did highway work. Shirley worked for Prince, Inc. as a breakdown roller operator and water truck driver. In September of 2003 she married Darwin Sept. They lived in Circle and Wolf Point and were mail contractors for the USPS. In 2011 Shirley, Darwin, and their dog Harley moved to Shepherd to be closer to family. She worked at her son-in-law and daughter's businesses, Total Rental and Village Rentals. She always had a smile on her face and the customers thought she was the owner; she was always so friendly and kind. During her battle with cancer she worked at Billings Health and Rehab where she absolutely loved the people there, and made many friends. They were like family. They helped raised funds for Shirley to get a 2nd surgery done in Denver, and supported her the whole time. She could never say enough good things about the people she knew there. Family was very important to Shirley. She loved spoiling her two grandchildren and was very excited of the news she would have a baby granddaughter Yablonski in April. She loved to sew and make blankets, and looked forward to her newest grandbaby. Shirley loved to be outside. She loved working in her yard, doing gardening, and growing flowers. During her battle with cancer she would still be out with her flowers. Shirley's faith connection with God was important to her. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Shirley was the kindest person anyone could ever meet. During her illness she was cared for by her daughter and husband, and she still worried more about them than she did herself. Up until the very last day she always made sure they took care of themselves as well. She had the sparkling blue eyes that could light up a room, and a smile nobody would ever forget. She will be missed greatly by many who looked up to her as a mom, sister, aunt, daughter, or just a friend. She is survived by her husband Darwin of Shepherd, daughter Tanya Pelissier (Cody) and grandchildren Kyle and Kayla of Roundup, son Justin Yablonski of Forsyth, ex-husband Duane Yablonski of Forsyth, mother Gladys Besel of Billings, sister Deb Stringari (Doug) of Belfry, brothers Bob Besel of Gillette WY and Ray (Jean) of Lewistown, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Leroy Besel, sister Kathy Sarrazin, and nephew Andrew Stringari. There will be a public viewing on Thursday (12/29) at Dahl Funeral Chapel from 11 am to 7 pm. The service will be at 11am on Friday (12/30) at Dahl Funeral Chapel with burial in the Laurel Cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the Union Community Hall in Laurel following the burial.
