Obituary

Layton, also known as Laylo, Layton Skatin and Latex, was the first born son of Brenda (Lennick) Sheehan and Kevin Sheehan in Billings, MT. He was born on Friday May 13, 1983, he left us January 14, 2019. Layton lived in Billings, MT until his passing. He struggled for years with addiction. Family was most important to Layton. He loved sewing and spending time with his mom and hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers. Layton had a big, gentle and kind heart. He loved so many family and friends, especially the love of his life with whom he enjoyed a long relationship. Layton never had a bad word to say about anyone, was always willing to help you. Layton was especially great with kids, they loved him and being a kid at heart he always found a way to make them laugh. Layton had many great ideas and was always working up a new plan or looking for a shortcut. There is the right way, the wrong way, and the Layton way. His many hobbies included outdoor activities; motorcycles, archery, hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and floating the river. Layton, being accident prone during these activities, would often blame it on being born on Friday the 13th. Layton had an incredible sense of humor; we can truly say they broke the mold with him. He was always goofing around and never took life too serious. If you had a curiosity for the odd or unusual, Layton would share his knowledge on the topic and provide you with a story. Layton worked many jobs over the years in the service and construction trades, most recently at Buffalo Wild Wings. He was a hard worker and everyone that worked with him would confirm that. Layton is survived by his mother (Brenda), father (Kevin), and two brothers (Brendan & Kim, Brock & Kylie), grandma (Betty Pettit), great aunts and uncles (Judy & Mark Sullivan, Patti & Ken Nicholson, Anita & Jr. Lennick, Rosemary & Bill Pettit, Debbie Peterson), aunts and uncles (Cindy & Lynn Mintyala, Jere & Sam Rogers, Erin & DJ Lennick), many cousins, and sidekick Lucy, his beloved yellow lab. Layton is proceeded in death by grandparents (Lola & Dean Sheehan, Don Lennick), great grandparents (Bea & Ray Hendrickson, Dora & Jerry Sheehan, Caroline & Henry Lennick, Peggy & Grant Harmon), and aunt (Colleen Sheehan).

I worked with Layton at the Olive Garden many years ago. He was always kind and helpful, always willing to help out with a smile one his face and a sarcastic comment to make you laugh. May his family find peace in this sad time and be able to share all the happy memories of this young man.

I like to extend my condolences to the family. I know there is truly no words that can ease the pain of your loss at this time. Please know that the Bible assures us that our dead loved ones are not suffering (Ecclesiastes chapter 9 vs 5) and that God will resurrect all who are in his memory (John chapter 5 verses 29, 29). May the reading of those scriptures bring you much comfort now and during the difficult times ahead.

To the family of Layton: I am very sorry for your loss. It is so very hard to loose a child. May God be with you and give you some peace. RIP Layton. I didn't know Layton but he sounds a lot like his Grandpa "GP"
