I was with Terry when he was hurt while we were racing motorcycles in the early 1970's. Terry and I were young fellows in Great Falls trying to find the correct occupation for us and the correct girl. He and I followed the same paths in this search. We both were working in construction at the time but when I heard of the Rehabilitation Counselor training at Eastern Terry also took an interest. He ended up going through the program a year or two behind me but I must say Rehabilitation was his true calling. He went on beyond the Masters level and became an author in the field and highly respected for his work. He was very accomplished in this work. I will remember him for his determination, his polite careful manner and his expertise. He added greatly to our communities. He will be missed. His good spirit and expertise will be carried on by all who knew him. Rest in peace Terry. David Nardinger

I did tell terry once I thought he was one of the best men I’ve ever known. I hope that counts as a goodbye. Terry said we were peas and carrots and he felt like we understood each other without having to say a word. I respected him so much, I asked him for life advice so many times, and he always thought for a moment before offering up his wise thoughts. he was such a gentle kind wise spirit and my heart hurts right now even tho he had been working on his obituary for months and I’d ask him if he was scared to die, He said no he was ready. Rest in love terry, I pray to see u again ♥️ Tamera

Dr Blackwell is partially responsible for me getting my masters degree in counseling. He was so patient and kind. I had so much respect and admiration for him. I appreciated everything he did for me and my career start in counseling.
