I've been very fortunate to have the Slade family in my life for over 25 years! One of my favorite memories of Mac and a testament to his feistiness took place at the Slade cabin in Red Lodge. There were several people hanging out in the living room and kitchen area when we noticed a black bear sneaking onto the porch. It quickly became apparent the bear wanted a bird feeder that was sitting on the porch and we all stood in awe as the bear grabbed the bird feeder with its mouth but not Mac. Mac went flying out the door, yelling at the bear, "You leave my bird feeder alone!". Sure enough, the bear dropped the bird feeder and went racing off as fast as it could. Mac kept his bird feeder and I doubt that bear ever wanted to meet that feisty human again. My family and I will miss Mac very much. Our love goes out to the Slade family at this difficult time. Mac and family were great neighbors and kind friends at the 400 Ranch in Red Lodge, MT. He was a great man...very caring and friendly to us for many years on Rock Creek! The Runge Family

Sorry to hear of Mac's passing, my condolences to the family. I remember Mac expounding at length on (among other things) the reasons that basketball was the sport that required the most athletic ability.

Joanne and family I never has a better employer than Dr. Slade . Joanne, Dr. Slade said one time when you came to the office, as he saw you walk across the parking lot there's my gray haired lady. I'm so glad he loved you so much. Carolyn Morris
