Obituary
After a life lived fully and well, Thomas F. Solomon died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 87 years of age and will be missed by all those he has left behind. Tom was born to Louis J. and Margaret Lily (O'Leary) Solomon March 31, 1925 in Anaconda, MT. In 1943 he graduated from Anaconda High and a month later joined the Navy. He served in the South Pacific during WWII as a radioman, an experience that changed the life of the small town boy forever. He received his honorable discharge in March 1946 and returned home to Montana. Tom was united in marriage to Marjorie McLain on September 27, 1947 in Deer Lodge, MT. Marge and Tom recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. A lifelong Montanan and outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and did so at every opportunity. He loved being with his family and friends, and shared many good times with them. Tom worked for Mountain Bell in Billings for 37 years, retiring as a district manager. After retirement, Tom used his newfound time to continue all the activities he enjoyed. He and Marge took the opportunity to travel the world, often with good friends, seeing new things and having great experiences. Tom is survived by his wife, Marge; his children: Sharon Solomon and husband Ron Smith, Dennis Solomon and wife Sue Solomon, Theresa Helus and husband Jim Helus, Lynette McBroom and husband Allen McBroom; grandchildren: Shayne Solomon, Connor Solomon. Service: Memorial mass will be 11:00 Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. Pius Catholic Church with Rite of Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Pius X Church, Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of your choice.

A lifelong Montanan and outdoorsman,I remember Tom and family taking me on my first trip on the Yellowstone River by Pine Creek camp grounds. My family and I have made many trips on the river since then. Tom always had A smile and A story to tell whenever I saw him. Lots of good memories. Tom was someone I always looked up to.
