Elizabeth Stang

We lost our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Elizabeth Stang, 86, of Billings on September 12, 2016. She was born May 29, 1930 in Pompey's Pillar, to Stephen and Magdalena Nickel. In her early years she was employed at Billings Laundry, Wilcoxson's Ice Cream and Saint Vincent's Hospital. On November 8, 1952 Elizabeth married Robert J. Stang; they had 4 children. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and checkers with her grandchildren and attending their sports and activities. Her crafts included embroidery and knitting. She loved to dance and always enjoyed her Lancers wine. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; children Robert Eugene, Carol Sue, and Bruce Michael; her oldest sister who was unfortunately left in Romania; her sisters Katie, Eva, Rosemary; her brothers Jake, Steve, Adam and Tony. Survivors include her brother Frank (Adrienne) Nickel of Oregon; her daughter, Barbara (John) McGraw. She leaves behind two loving grandchildren - Angie (Justin) Downs, and John McGraw Jr. and three great-grandchildren – Wyatt, Katie, and Casen Downs of Molt. Memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice. The Memorial Service will be Saturday 10 a.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. There will be a private family Inurnment.
