Jane Steffan

So sorry to hear about her passing. She was a great lady. I will say this I never won an argument with her as she was always right.

I am so thankful that the last time I saw Aunt Janie she and I were able to spend some time together. We had an amazing conversation, catching up on so many things, reminiscing , and just having a good visit. I love her voice and her laugh, they will be forever ingrained in my memory.. ❤️❤️ Sending love to each of you, and prayers for comfort and strength! We may be miles apart, but you are never far from my thoughts and always in my heart. I love you all!!

One of my favorite memories is a retelling of Aunt Jane playing cards (Pitch, of course). She and Uncle George were partners, and they were being ornery and passing information about what suit they were hoping to lead if they got the bid. Because the drink glasses were card-themed, they kept turning their desired suit toward each other. Now, I believe they were TOO good at their playful "cheating" and had to become super obvious with their antics before they were finally caught. This memory is more dear to me knowing that Aunt Jane and Uncle George arrived in Heaven at roughly the same time. I'm certain the whole family got together up there to play a hand and toast those of us here missing them. I hope this makes you smile; she always made me smile - that's for sure! ♡

Pam and Rachel, I never had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Jane, but I know from what wonderful people you both are that she had to have been an amazing mother and grandmother. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I feel like I’ve been putting this off for quite some time now and to be honest, I don’t think I’ll ever be fully ready to say goodbye, but here goes. My sisters and I grew up in my grandparents’ house. We raced around their neighborhood on big wheels during the summers, trick-or-treated in costumes gramma made for Halloween, and banged on pots and pans for the New Year. I learned to ride a bike with grandpa Wally and my dad holding on the back of the seat while gramma watched from the window, cheering me on. She taught me to hand-stitch almost everything and helped make the best paper dollies. She told me that the best gifts are the ones that you make with your own two hands and that being young doesn’t last forever and neither do the pains of being young. Gramma passed down homemade strudel, a love for art and spirit of adventure. She laughed about shared experiences and mishaps with boys and hair-dye without ever making me feel foolish. She was a friend for so very long and was always excited to know my heart. Of all the things she gave me, the love and understanding that she had for my sisters and I is the greatest gift I’ll ever know. It’s hurts so much to say farewell, but I know you and grandpa are together again. I love and miss you both so much. Rest easy and thank you for so many memories.
