Ruel and family. I am so sorry to hear of Candi's passing. I remember the two of you at the nursing home cruising down the halls on the wheelchair laughing all the way. You made Candi so happy. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time. Sharon Wetsch

About six years ago, my mother Janice and I went to visit Candi up at Saint Vincent Hospital, at the suggestion of a social worker who also visited her....We had never met Candi before, but who we found was a very bright lady who did so well at the crossword puzzles we played with her....I think we visited about four or five times in all --- sometimes my mother would read from a book to her, or I would read an inspiring quotation to her....One time I brought an angel drawing of mine, for her, and I remember the time when I showed her a picture of someone holding a little bird, with the quote: "Three things in human life are important....The first is to be kind, the second is to be kind, and the third is to be kind....." (by Henry James).... Visiting Candi truly made me remem- ber the great importance of kindness in Life, and I hope our kindness to her was inspiring in some way....We will always remember her.... Sincerely from, Heidi Handsaker.....
