Coral Ann Bobo-Baker, 52, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at her home in Billings, Montana. She was born February 5, 1960 in Riverside, California, the daughter of Grady and Mary (Short) Bobo. She grew up in Great Falls, Montana. Coral worked as a LPN at both Billings hospitals. Then she went to work in the mental health department at the VA. Coral loved the outdoors and spending time with her family. She was a brilliant cook, fantastic teacher and a loving mother. Coral lived her life for others. She was a guardian angel who protected and guided those she held dear. She was the type of person who wanted nothing, but gave everything. She withstood and overcame many obstacles and was an inspiration to those around her. Coral will remain in the hearts of all those who knew her. Coral is survived by her mother, Mary Bobo; brothers, Ray (Deborah) Bobo and Tom (Melinda) Bobo; four children, Dustin, Erin, Ryan (Stephanie) and Adrianne; two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Corbin; and countless other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Grady. Service: A celebration of Coral's life will be noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11 at her home in 1001 Toole Circle.

I worked alongside Coral at the VA. She was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, and really was the bond that held the staff together, quietly; always ready to step in to ease the pain or share the joys. Not a day went by that I didn't recognize what a gem she was, and I know our patients and staff feel the same way. Nothing brightened her smile like talking about her family. I think her love for all of you was endless. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Coral was my nurse, counselor and colleague for the past 4 years at the Billings VA Outpatient Clinic. Coral always had a smile, laugh and encouraging word, always checking in to see if I was taking care of myself. Coral taught me to treat each person as an individual, to look for the good inside, past the hurt and the acting out behavior. I'll always cherish the stories she told about her family and grandchildren, but especially of her pet dog and of the time the bear was roaming the neighborhood. On the day I last talked with her on the phone, she told me that she was looking forward to seeing me the next day, we had a laugh and a see you later. Coral, I still plan on seeing you later. Coral was a wonderful and caring person that will be very missed. She cared more than most and was always more than helpful to all that needed her guidance which I did very frequently. She was always very pleasant even when dealing with less than desirable conditions, and for that she deserves a Gold medal! Coral, I will miss you and will see you on the flip side. Coral was truely my very best friend. When I moved to Billings (to quote Maureen) she opened her heart and home/family to Maureen & I. We have been sisters since 1988, and always will be. Not only was she one of the best nurses I have ever known, she was a wonderful Mom and friend. I learned so many things from her, and quote her often in my own work. We helped eachother through tough times. Our families have became one. She was the person who knew me better than any one on this earth and I'm not sure what I'll do without her. She was the kindest, most selfless and intellegent person I have ever know-the world will certainly feel the loss of a tender & passionate soul. I'm SO blessed that I was able to go to MT & see her and "our family" last week- truely a gift from God. Erin, Ryan, Dustin & Adrianne--we will reamin family- forever. Love you!
