Robert S. Thompson, 62, of Hardin died November 29, 2018 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana. He was born on July 25, 1956 in Hardin, Montana. He grew up working on the family farm and eventually began working as a mechanic for his grandfather who owned the local GM dealership. Ultimately, he was able to live out his life fulfilling his passion as a truck driver for the now 50+ year old family company, Thompson Trucking, which was established by his late father, John. During this time he made lifelong relationships with his clients and anyone in a 100 mile radius. He was loved and respected by all who met him. Robert's other passion in life was his family. He always did everything possible to make sure his family was happy and taken care of. In any spare time he had, Robert loved to relax on his boat with a fishing pole in hand. He also loved to take his family camping and boating every chance he got. Bob also loved his animals and insisted on keeping a pony or two in his front yard. If you ever caught him sitting down, he could be seen with a dog in his lap. Robert is survived by his wife Kris; sons Steven (Shannon) of Roundup, Montana, Kelly and Dillon of Hardin and Bobby of Pryor, Montana; daughters Cindy (Wayne) George of Sheridan, Wyoming, Chelsea (Tennyson) Carlow of Silverton, Oregon and Lindsay (Orrin) Waddington of Abilene, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at First Alliance Church of Hardin. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Hardin. Robert and I started first grade together and proceeded through our school years as classmates. He was a "forever" friend and reconnecting each time we met was easy. A genuine good person. Our condolences to all family and friends. Rest in Peace Bob.

I was sorry to read about the loss of your dear loved one. The bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection to come according to scriptures such as [John 5:28-29] and [Acts 24:15]. We find further hope in scriptures like [Isaiah 25:8] and [Revelations 21;3-5] which says in part that Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, because God will swallow up death forever. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort. My Sincere Condolences.
