Helen Tuggle

Helen Marie Tuggle, 86, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 in RiverStone Hospice Home in Billings, Montana. She was born December 4, 1924 in Lewistown, Montana, the daughter of Anthony and Helen (Brummer) Wente. She graduated from Fergus County High School and nurses training in Lewistown. Helen was in the Army Cadet Corp and worked as a nurse. She married Kem E. Blackmore and they had two children. In 1956 Helen married Lawrence “Pete” Tuggle, who died in 1981, leaving her the family ranch in Pryor. In 1999 Helen and her daughter Tana cofounded Sacred Ground International, and Helen placed her ranch in conservation programs for the preservation of wildlife and grasslands, while raising buffalo. She opened the ranch to visitation and gatherings for a greater understanding and respect for all people and the Mother Earth we live on. Helen loved her family and all of nature. She was loved and adopted by people and cultures from around the world and was fondly known as “Mamr”. A courageous pioneer and deeply spiritual, Helen embraced the good in all people. Her greatest love was her faith and family and her greatest desire was for peace and harmony for all living beings. Helen is survived by her brother Bruce Wente of Lewistown; son Anthony Kem Blackmore and daughter Tana Blackmore, both of Pryor; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Pete. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Ground International, PO Box 78, Pryor, MT 59066. Service: A Memorial Service for Helen will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Bernards Catholic Church.
