Obituary
John Robert Uribe, 64, of Billings passed from this world on Saturday, December 3, 2011 with his family by his side. John was born on June 24th, 1947 to Albert Uribe Sr. and Melba DeNittis. He grew up in Laurel, MT, later moving to Lewistown and then California. At the age of 7 John got his first guitar and from then on he mastered his talents worldwide. Harry Nillson, Jim Price, BB King, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and Barbara Streisand to name a few that he worked and recorded with. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Cindy Weinheimer; brothers, Albert Uribe (Rose), Carl Uribe (Sue), and Joseph Uribe (Jane). Also surviving his aunt Marie Early; 3 daughters, Lisa Negley, Jennafer Uribe, and Mary Farr; 6 grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews. We wish to thank Dr. Price, Riverstone Healthcare, and Riverstone Hospice for their wonderful care of John in his final days. “We love you, John, and will miss you.” Service: A benefit memorial tribute for John will be Sunday, December 11, 2011 at The Eagles FOE in the heights from 1pm – 7pm.

I've often thought of John and his incredible musical talents. I recall seeing him perform one time at the old Midway Club in Billings, doing Jimi Hendrix stuff as good as Hendrix himself. It's been a long time since we were high school friends in Laurel. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences to all John's family and friends. He was a unique guy and unoforgettable.

Carl & Family- I was very sorry to hear of John's death. Carl- even though we have seldom see each other since we were in school, I want you to know that I am thinking about you. I don't know what it is like to lose a sibling, but I know what it's like to lose a parent to cancer. I know that John is now at Peace and has no pain. Julie

I will never forget John. From the times we played together in Lewistown and then following him on his journey trhough out the world. He was a great friend, a great confidant, and an all around good friend. He mentored me and taught me so much as a kid growing up. He took the world by storm and retreated back to Montana, the place he truly loved. My heart and thoughts to the family. Albert, Cindy, I remember all of you so well. John was as good of a person as I ever met. He always treated all with compasaion & love! In the years I hung out with John, he never raised his voice in anger When.I was down & out he would let me stay at his abode weeks at a time.John was also one of the wisest persons I ever met!He didn't talk down to anyone,but laid it on the line to what was acceptable or not.I'm just sorry I didn't visit with him more often. John was a great guitar player,but even a greater person!!
