Obituary
Our mother Florence Unterseher (94) passed to her Heavenly Home January 13, 2016. She was born on September 2, 1921, on the family farm at Sioux Pass, Montana to Chris and Florence Sjostrom. A week after her high school graduation she married “her sweetie” Emil Unterseher. The Newlyweds farmed in the Sioux Pass area for several years. They moved to Laurel in 1956 where he worked for the railroad. Together they raised 7 children. She hosted countless guests at their home. Florence was known for her faith in God, her witty quips and banana cream pies that were second to none. Florence was proceeded in death by her husband Emil, two daughters Valerie and Melodie, her parents, two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great grandson. She is survived by two daughters Emilie (Bill) Williams, Vickie (Tino) Riojas and three sons, Richard (Pearl) Unterseher, Raymond (Diann) Unterseher, Rev. Robert (Sharon) Unterseher, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Viewing Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Family Christian Center in Laurel Monday January 18, 2016 at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Laurel Cemetery Tuesday at 9:00am. Arrangements are in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel.

Oh my sweet,sweet grandma...I love you from the depths of my being. I am having to use the advice you gave me when my sweet Richard David died...when the tears get to many just get in the hot tub and cry until you can't... Then pull the plug and let them go down the drain...life won't be so heavy then... Best advice I received!! Today I imagine you up in heaven with grandpa and the girls and my little Richard having a great time singing and praising!! I already miss you so bad but I know you are enjoying the heaven you have been so passionate about. I love you dearly .

I feel like I have lost my second mom. Emil and Florence were part of my life from my earliest memories and as a child I spent almost as much time at their house as I did at home. While in my adult years I rarely saw them, they were always special to me. I am glad that Florence can finally be with Emil, the love of her life, and her two precious daughters, who we lost so many years ago.

I miss you already, grams. I love you so much. I will cherish every moment we have spent together. I loved our Monday breakfasts and daily phone calls. Give gramps and the girls a hug for me.

Gibbs Family On behalf of the Gibbs family, we want to express our great loss at the passing of Florence Unterseher. At the same time we feel the need to pause and celebrate one of the most exceptional lives to touch our own. Florence, Emil and family partnered with the Gibbs family in ministry for over sixty years. Florence often seemed like a second mother to us. She became our go to example for practical Christianity and faithful friendship. We were all raised with memories of her cheerful disposition, her hosting us in countless dinners, her support to our mom when our father died and her overcoming faith when confronted with her own loss of two daughters and a husband. Her positive attitude and confidence in Christ never wavered nor failed to influence those who loved her. Her example of a sincere faith, selfless sharing and consistent friendship have marked our lives just as they have touched the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We honor Florence and Emil for standing shoulder to shoulder with our parents in ministry and for a selfless friendship that lasted for over half a century. Florence was a very special lady to me. When I first became a Christian and started attending the same church as she did, she hugged me and said "you remind me so much of my dear daughter that passed away...........do you mind if I call you my "other daughter"? From that day on, I was honored to call Florence "my second mom". I will never forget you, Florence, but you have served the Lord for a long time and you are reaping your just rewards now. So excited you are re-untied with Emil and the girls and others that have gone before you. I look forward to seeing you again...........pain-free, healthy, and happy. Love you bunches!
