Barbara Veen

Barbara Jean Veen passed away on Friday, August 30 at Eagle Cliff Manor in Billings. She was born on December 12, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Katheryn Lamberty. When she was a teenager her family moved to Wisconsin where she graduated from high school. She worked at the state hospital there for many years. Later she moved to Livingston, Montana for work where she met her future husband Allen Veen. They were married on June 21, 1975. They then moved to Worden and later settled in Custer where they have resided for the past 15 years. Barbara loved her flower garden, also doing crafts, knitting, playing pinochle with her friends and she was a great cook. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jackie Schmitt. She is survived by her husband Allen, two sons Ted and John Henneman, sister Pat (Jim) Raycher, brother-in-law Jerry Schmitt, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Congregational Church in Custer. Burial of ashes will be in Custer Cemetery.
