Matilda White

Tillie White, 96, of Joliet, died peacefully Friday evening October 24, 2014 of natural causes. Tillie was born August 25, 1918 in Broadview MT. Her family moved to Shepherd then to Roberts, where she started school, and finally to Boyd where she completed her education. She married William “Buster” White in 1937 and after several years in Bear Creek they moved to their ranch south of Boyd where she lived until Buster passed away in 1979. She then moved to Joliet where she spent her remaining years. Tillie was active in the Roberts United Methodist Church as well as the Boyd Ladies Aid. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed putting on big dinners for her family and friends. Her apple pies were absolutely the best. Tillie's life was centered around her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides all the important lessons of life Mom taught her family she also taught many of her grandchildren and friends how to drive in her Dodge Colt. Tillie is survived by her sons, Don (Irene) White, Glen (Pam) White and Rick (Verdine) White; grandchildren, Jason (Shanna) White and their children, Tanner, Nathan and Jenna, Jenny (Joe) Johnson and their son, Josh, Brenda (Nick) Longin and their daughter Lilly, Levi White and Brad White. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters. Services will be held at the Roberts United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Rockvale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Roberts United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
