Loretta Bosch

A beautiful woman to anyone lucky enough to have known her on this earth, Loretta Catherine Reichert Bosch was granted her angel wings on Monday, June 11, 2018. She was born on Holy Thursday, April 17, 1930, the 3rd of 10 children, to Frank J. Reichert Sr. and Eva Mary Roll Reichert in Dunn Center, North Dakota. When Loretta was a child she and her family moved to Montana during the Depression and homesteaded in the Huntley Project area. On November 5, 1949 Loretta was united in marriage to Raymond John Bosch at the old St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Pompey's Pillar, MT. They then made their home in Laurel, MT. From this union, two daughters were born, Judy Arlene and Laura Rae. After having a home built to their own specifications in 1954 and living in that same house for 61 years, Loretta and Ray sold their home and moved into Billings in 2015. Loretta dabbled in numerous occupations during her lifetime. Besides being the best wife, mother, and grandma, she also waitressed in the Laurel area and worked at the renowned O'Donnell's Turkey Farm during a few “turkey seasons.” One position she found quite memorable was her employment at Greene's Drapery Shop in Laurel where she and the owner manufactured draperies for the “new” Sheraton Hotel which was completed in 1980. After taking cake decorating lessons for her own fun and enjoyment, Loretta started baking and decorating birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends. Soon her name spread and her “hobby” became a small in-home business. Loretta's most beloved and rewarding experience was being a grandmother to her three grandchildren and a special “Nana” for a sweet little boy named Zeb when his mommy had to return to teaching at the elementary school just down the block from Loretta and Ray's home. Loretta had a special relationship with her only granddaughter, Kristen, who she cared for, nurtured, and spoiled through her younger years. When Loretta and Ray retired, they found pleasure traveling, especially to Minnesota and Alaska, as well as camping in their travel-trailer. In her “spare time,” Loretta enjoyed visiting with family and friends, praying the Rosary, playing cards, gardening, sewing, hand quilting, cooking, baking, making dolls, and doing all sorts of other crafts. Her hands were never idle! Loretta will be eternally remembered by her husband of over 68 years, Ray Bosch of Billings; her daughter Laura and husband Ray Linn of Billings; her grandchildren Ryan Riesinger and wife Beth of Grand Forks, ND, Jonathan Riesinger and wife Erika of Rosemount, MN, and Kristen Linn of Billings; her great-grandchildren Alixx and fiancé Luke Provost, Kamryn, and Jace Riesinger, all of Rosemount, MN, and Brandon and Anna Riesinger of Grand Forks, ND; son-in-law Bob Riesinger of Bloomington, MN; sisters-in-law Diane Reichert-Williams of Billings and Eleanor Reichert of Huntley, MT; brother-in-law Ernie Eddy of Missoula, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Loretta is welcomed into heaven by her oldest daughter, Judy Riesinger; all 9 of her siblings– brothers Carl, Eugene, Frank, Gabriel, and David Reichert and sisters Gloria Sherman, Christina Kitchel, Eva Eddy, and Julie Krum; her parents and grandparents, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Vigil service on Sunday, July 1 at 6:00 in the evening at Dahl Funeral Chapel, 10 Yellowstone Avenue, Billings, MT. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 717 18th Street West, Billings, MT, on Monday, July 2 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Inurnment will be immediately after Mass at Calvary Cemetery, with a luncheon following in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pius X Church, 717 18th Avenue, Billings, MT 59102, or to the Chloe Lai Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Francis Catholic School, 2202 Colton Blvd, Billings, MT 59102.
