Margaret Williams

Peggy Williams, 86, of Billings passed away January 9, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born May 23, 1929 in Laurel, MT to Steven and Lucille (Budge) Romee. She was the second of three children. Peggy attended nursing school in San Diego, CA and became a registered nurse in 1951. It was there in San Diego that she met a sailor, Rudolph "Rudy" Williams. They were married on March 8, 1951. They had two children, Catherine and Steven. They moved frequently so Peggy had the privilege of working with patients all over the United States. She worked in hospitals in San Diego, CA, New London, CT, Key West, FL and Vancouver, WA. She worked as a clinic nurse in Colstrip, MT and as Yellowstone County's Public Health Nurse. She retired from a 30 year nursing career in 1981. She enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling, spending time with friends and family and was a devout Catholic. She especially enjoyed chocolate and always looked forward to the milkshakes that her granddaughter Amy, brought her almost daily. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry Romee, son Steven and her husband Rudy. She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Norm) Evans; granddaughter, Amy (James) Cambron; grandson, James “Brian” Evans; great-granddaughter, Brenna Townsend; and brother, Mike (Judy) Romee. Our family would like to thank all of mom's physicians, the staff of St. Vincent Healthcare, and especially the physicians and staff at Advanced Care Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion given to Peggy and to our entire family. Vigil service will be Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, funeral mass will be on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. also at St. Bernard. Interment will be in the Laurel Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
