Obituary

Margaret ‘Peggy' Zartman passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2019. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, and we know she would be pleased to have had so many of her family near as she entered heaven. Born February 14, 1939, in Billings to Buck and Helen Fargo, she grew up as the only girl with her four older brothers. She had wonderful childhood memories of growing up in Glasgow. On February 17, 1962, Peggy married Peter Zartman, her husband of 57 years. She once said that she knew Pete was the one from the moment she met him. Together they raised their six daughters, who were the center of their lives. Her greatest joy was being a mom to her girls. As her family grew to include grandchildren, her joy grew even more. Peggy was blessed to provide care for her grandchildren daily. She enjoyed sharing stories of their many antics and humorous things they would say. They, in turn, cherish their memories of the grandma-care they were so fortunate to have. Peggy's favorite activities always involved family. Holiday gatherings were special to her, and she was at her best when in a competitive card game with those she loved. She enjoyed years of bowling in several leagues, and taking in late night movies. Always a night owl, her grandkids often joked that if they needed a late night ride home, they could call grandma; they knew she would be awake. Her church was an important part of her life as well. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral since 1968. Peggy is survived by her husband, Pete, and daughters Charlotte (Dave) Ayre, Cindy (Pat) White, Michelle (Wayne) Trafton, Jennifer (Brian) Ashmore, Joelle (Kevin) Maddox, and Mindy (Jason) Davidson. Her brother, Mike (Murnell) Fargo, 17 grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her also survive her. She was excited to meet her newest great grandchild next March. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Chuck, Jim, and John Fargo, as well as her father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Sarah Zartman. Vigil service for Peggy will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral. Until we see you again…
