Lorraine Fix
November 11, 1933 - April 16, 2020
Obituary
Lorraine Mary (Artzer) Fix was born tenth of sixteen children on November 11, 1933 to Jacob and Eva Artzer in Sterling, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Fix on September 12, 1954. They were blessed with 5 children: Mark(Debra) Fix, Cindy Kay(Tony) Brown, Lorenda(Mark) Wahl, Loralee Fix, and Kimberly(Scott) Peterson. Lorraine shared stories about growing up in a four room house with all of her siblings contributing and sharing all of the daily duties. The sharing included 4 sisters sleeping in the same bed and the shared drinking cup by the sink that was used at mealtimes. Times were very simple and her family was very close. She often said that Mama and Papa always made sure that all of them were well taken care of. These amazing gifts of caring for each other were carried forward in her lifelong achievement of being an amazing mother and grandmother. Many memories were created with both Lorraine and Robert while raising their children on a ranch in Ekalaka. Everyone always enjoyed the visits from relatives and friends that came to their home from near and far. Lorraine would provide amazing meals that visitors would rave about and as her children grew older they appreciated more and more. Lorraine was very resourceful and was always available for anything whether it was sewing a new dress, driving a truck to feed the cattle, getting the kids to and from events and most definitely comforting her children with all their needs. Robert passed away in 1992 leaving Lorraine with many years to spend with family. She cherished the sister trips she shared with Chris, Dorothy, and Julie. She also remained a significant part of all of her children's lives. Most importantly she continued her caring ways as a grandmother. She created bonds and memories that each of her grandchildren will carry forward for years to come. Her kind gentle nature wrapped around those she met and carried forward in all of the memories she generated with them. She had many nieces and nephews that remained very dear to her. Lorraine was a very faith-filled woman who shared her faith with her children. She provided a firm foundation that carried forward in all of their lives. On April 16, 2020 Robert greeted Lorraine as she joined him in their heavenly home. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Eva Artzer; brothers Jacob, Andy, John and Paul; and sisters Mary, Molly, Suzie, Dorothy and Julie. Lorraine is survived by her children as well as her grandchildren: Jeremy Fix, Justin Fix and Dillon(Leidy) Fix; Dustan(Crystal) Smith and Cody(Genny) Smith; Nathan(Kara) Wahl, Nolan(Steph) Wahl, Mikaela(Zach)Besel and Nicolas Wahl; Desta(David Sanderson) Fix; Robert(Amanda) Peterson and Sawyer Peterson. Great Grandchildren Dusty, Cadon, Hunter, Abby, Ally, Avery, Oliver, Lillian, and Connor. Brothers Joe, Donald, Lewis, and Larry. Sisters Annie and Chris. To all of Lorraine kids and families, I am so sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing. What a wonderful and kind lady she was. I will always remember her quiet, smiling face and twinkling eyes as she listened to so much giggling and laughing from young teenage girls. She was so patient! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Lauri (Tauck) Keith

Dear family of Lorraine, The love of people and the love of our Lord that Lorraine demonstrated has shown brightly through her daughters Lorenda and Kim, whom I call my friends. Lorenda reached out to me in the early 1980's when we were both newbys to Billings and she invited me to a Walk to Emmaus event for young adults. That spiritual experience was the most profound I'd experienced in my 18 years and anchored my adult life. I came to know Scott's sister, Tammy in the late 1980's and early 1990's. She was welcome in our home like family. In the 2000's Kim and Scott became our neighbors. Walks with Kim often turned to spiritual based conversations. Kim and Scott sponsored a Walk to Emmaus weekend for me that anchors my transition into retirement. RIP (Resurrect In Peace) Lorraine. Well done good and Faithful Servant! God's Peace be with you all, Winnette Rak

We were neighbors for many years in the Mill Iron community. I have many memories of the Fix family. Bob was the most handsome man I knew next to Dick Clark. Lorraine and Mom were best friends and did each others hair. Mark was closest to my age and we played together for years. I had so much fun with them going to country school snow.mobjling. and swimming in the stock tank. Lorraine was a lovely woman and her family was lucky to have her for so many years. She will be missed.

Dearest Mark, Cindy, Lorenda, Loralee, Kim and families. I am so sorry for the loss of your Beautiful Mother. She was an inspiration to me and a example how to be a good person. She took me in and accepted me into your family the first few days after I was married to your Uncle. I lived with you Cindy and Mark, and your parents for a couple of months. I remember your Mom as a great cook and one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She took me chokecherry "shopping" in the hot summer days and gave me recipes to make jam. And when Lorenda and Loralee came along we would spent time with each others kids celebrating birthdays ! We also spent Holidays together, which was always a highlight ! I still remember one Thanksgiving day when we all dug into your Mom's great Pumpkin pie and we kinda looked at each other with a question in our eyes ? Then your Mom exclaimed, "oh I forgot to put the sugar in the pie " We had a good laugh and we continued to eat the pie ! Im sorry Kim I didn't get to know you, other than your birth ! I was woking at the hospital Kim when you were born ! I believe it was not too long after you were born that I moved to Miles City. I missed your Mom when I left and all her young children. I wish you all Blessing from God and a very Happy Life going forward ! The loss of a Mother is so hard ! My heart breaks for you all ! God be with you during this time, and know she loved you all ! Love always, Aunt Barb
