Obituary
Celestine (Sally) Irene Dworshak, 91, of Billings, MT passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 30, 2020. She was born May 3, 1928 in Morton, North Dakota to Joseph and Margaret Hatzenbuhler. On November 18, 1947 she married Lawrence Dworshak and they had ten children. They lived in Mandan, ND for several years and then moved to Billings, MT. Sally was involved in her Catholic church. She volunteered for many activities. She worked many years at Deaconess Hospital. She enjoyed reading, bingo, puzzles and games but her passion was raising children. She was known to say “I was put on earth to raise children”. Even after raising her own children, she spent much of her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Celestine is survived by her children: Clinton (MaryEllen), Ken (Hal), Sharon Barrera, Denise Nottingham, Debbie, Joseph (Deanna), Sidney, Robert (Heather), and Kevin (Candace); her surviving sister, Marge (Jerry) Schempp; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Celestine was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; eldest daughter Ruth Ann Moses; siblings Pauline (Rueben), Kay (Ted), Joe (Clara), and Rose (Mike). Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday May 6th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2055 Woody Dr. Billings, MT. Live video will be available for those who are unable to attend. In lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite charity. Dahl Funeral Chapel will be live streaming the funeral service on Wednesday May 6th at 10:00 AM. As a kid, Grandma Sally often took care of me while my mom worked, especially on holidays. She always tried to make every holiday special, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I'd often stay the night and sleep under her prized German cookoo clock. We often played games, like Yahtzee and scrabble. She nearly always had her cookie jar stocked and was full of interesting stories about growing up on a farm in North Dakota. I was so glad that I got to attend a family reunion in North Dakota with her to see all of the places she had described. My favorite food that she made was homemade apple butter from her apple trees in the yard. She lived in the same home for 50 years and always had an open door policy. You could stop by any time and she'd welcome your visit. She could make a meal spread to several people that she never expected at any given time. And, she was never too busy to chat. She was a feisty, opinionated lady. I loved her.

I remember the vacations when we would stop in Billings before going to Mandan to visit Grandma and Grandpa. I was always amazed with Aunt Sally's Garden especially her strawberries.

Clint was a good child hood friend. I don't rember if Clint was classmate at St Pius the tenth school with me or not. Another mutual friend is Larry Ulman. I lived at 3316 Poly drive. At the time Clint lived on a street parallel to and north Poly drive between Copper and Silver Blvds .My family moved away approximately 1964. LOSING a mother is one of life's hardest trials.
