Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Betty J. Welsh announce her passing. Betty was born in Forsyth, MT and grew up in Sanders, MT. Betty was the matriarch of our family, the glue that held us together. She will be deeply missed, but is now with her beloved family members whom preceded her in death, including her dear husband Jack Welsh, her father and mother Glen & Bertha Mackley, and her sister Francis with whom she was close. She is survived by her daughters Amy Williams, Leisa Kitt, and Stacey Kitt, her granddaughters Delilah Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Brianna Moore, and her grandson Austin Moore. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren Aspen, Natasha, Marilyn, Nevaeh, Calogero, and Carlito with whom she was very close and involved deeply in all of their lives. She was a true Catholic attending mass weekly at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral and taking communion to homebound churchgoers. She was truly an amazing woman living a long 88 years from December 27, 1931. She passed peacefully in her home in Billings, MT on May 14, 2020. Funeral Service will be noon, Thursday, May 21, 2020 at St. Patrick Co-Cathedral. Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

To Betty's family - Betty is my cousin. Her mother, Bertha, is my Dad (Jerry Verhelst) older sister. The last time that I saw Betty was at a Verhelst family reunion at Frances' cabin outside Red Lodge several years ago. It was a good day remembering & sharing stories of Granny Verhelst and our several aunts and uncles. I will remember your family in my prayers - especially Thursday. Kay Verhelst Bratcher, Plano, TX

To Betty's Family, Betty will be terribly missed! She was so faithful and always trying to figure out how she could be the most helpful to those who were struggling more than she was. She always inspired me! Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Mary
