Obituary
George Lynn Schuyler passed away peacefully on August 27, 2020. Dad was born in Grand Rapids, MI to George and Geraldine Schuyler on August 25, 1924. He graduated high school and joined the Navy. He went to pre-dental school at Northwestern University, then served at Farragut Naval Training Station before finishing dental school in St Louis. It was there where he met and married Martha Jane DeBord in 1946. George and Martha had 4 sons, Charles (Lorna), Robert (Jody), William (Barbara), David (Laurie). They raised this family in Billings after living in Glasgow, where dad started practicing dentistry. He built a fine business in Billings and joined Kiwanis and Boy Scouts, where he earned the Silver Beaver Award for 25 years of service to the scouts. His explorer troop built 17 canoes and floated most of the major rivers in Montana. Dad loved the game of golf and managed to win the Highlands Club Champion 6 times, the State Seniors twice in 1981/84. He won the Briarwood and Peter Yegen Champions each once, and managed to win the Par 3 Senior Championship 14 times, his last on his 94th birthday! He had 10 hole- in-ones and made many friends on the golf course. Dad became a dedicated Christian in 1975 after hearing Tommy Tyson speak at an Ashram at the United Methodist Camp on the Boulder River. This changed everything for dad. He and our mom became very dedicated to the Walk to Emmaus Movement, and loved serving the Lord. Martha died in 1986 and dad met and married Donna Footer in 1987. Dad and Donna traveled the states, where dad was able to expand his love of photography. He became an accomplished wildlife photographer in his own rite. Dad and Donna met many friends and attended many churches and taught childrens' bible classes wherever they landed for the winter in their travels. Dad was preceded in death by first wife Martha and son Robert (1991). Dad is survived by his wife Donna, a sister Barbara (Doug) Schuyler Toler, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by Donna's 3 children and 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. We love you Dad, see you on the other side! Memorial services will be held at a later date. So sorry for the loss of George. What a full life he lived! I enjoyed time spent with George and Donna through church and other activities through a season of time. I enjoyed seeing many of the pictures he took, including my youngest daughter for her graduation. He was a force of nature and spreading God's word. He will be missed. Sue Mullen

Our family lived across the Arnold Lane cul de sac from the Schuyler's when we moved to Billings in the mid 60's. David was my age and we became great friends in grade school and beyond. David really surprised myself and my family by coming to my mothers funeral in March of 2018. That meant the world to us. It was great to see him after so many years. I wished I could have spent more time catching up with him. Our family sends our deep condolences to the Schuyler family. Fond memories. Brad Jensen and the Jensen family, Otto, Ron, Bruce and Gary.

So sorry for the loss of your father. He lived a long and great life. George was my dentist for years. My Mom was one of his first patients to have all her teeth capped and my parents and George and Martha became good friends. George spent many years hunting and then taking pictures of wildlife on our ranch. I’m sure you all remember coming to the ranch in Hysham. Now they can all reconnect in heaven.
