Marie Roll

Marie “Peggy” Margurite Roll, 81, of Billings, Montana passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at home. The daughter of Edwin and Lena (Kleiman) Dilley was born on December 8, 1938, in Lewistown, Montana. Marie spent her childhood in Moore, Montana. Upon graduating from high school there, she completed one year at the Business College in Billings. Marie married Eugene Roll in 1958 and later divorced after 31 years of marriage. Through this marriage, seven children were born: Kevin, Julie, Suzanne, Ken, Elaine, Scott, and Darby. Marie was employed at Saint Vincent's Hospital as a CNA until retirement age. Marie was always active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Marie loved to sew, watercolor painting, and making holiday crafts for loved ones. Marie was an active member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Whether it was cooking meals for funerals, saying prayers for those on the prayer chain, she was very devoted to her faith. Mom absolutely loved going to garage sales with her friends and family. We had some of the best Christmas gifts, one never knew what to expect. Surviving family members are six children and their spouses, Kevin and Patty Roll, Suzanne and Dwight Humphrey, Ken Roll, Elaine and Jason Bell, Scott and Christy Roll, and Darby Roll; 16 grandchildren, Fanessa, Deon, Anthony, Tylene, Tia, Jenna, Jayda, Chase, Cassandra, Calista, Sienna, Corbin, Savannah, Kylee, Brook; numerous great-grandchildren, and so many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mom was so fortunate to have such a great support system! Mom was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Julie; infant grandson Jake; her parents Edwin and Lena Dilley, and her three sisters, Elsie Bangiola, Grace Kampf, and Helen Qunell. Last but definitely not least, Mom had a devoted black cat named “Licorice” who was always by her side and very comforting and sure to be one sad kitty till we find a new home. Mom lived a very simple and unselfish life. She asked for little and gave a lot! She was always helping friends, family and neighbors. She was a very strong, independent woman, and one of the most precious gifts the Lord has blessed us all with. Mom, you have left your footprint in our hearts forever. WE WILL LOVE AND MISS YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN! A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 4th, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3411 3rd Ave. S. The rite of committal will be immediately after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
