Scott Pease

Scott Pease was born on December 21, 1968 in Lander, Wyoming. He passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital due to a long illness, and God took him on October 28, 2020. He was proud member of the Apsaalooke (Crow) Nation and Hidatsa Nation. His Indian name was Iisassaa Iishbaape Itchii, Good Days to Come. He was a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan. Scott was a good man, he was kind, generous and loving. He was also a man's man, a tough Cow boss, and a hard worker who was either on a horse or in his farm machinery. He had a good childhood and a successful life and wanted his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to live the same way. He loved all of them, supported and encouraged their sports activities, school activities, and celebrations. Due to his father's career with BIA, Scott resided on the Wind River, Blackfeet, and Crow Reservations. He also grew up in the Billings Heights and graduated from Sky View High School in 1989. Like many members of the Pease family, he was a jack of all trades; he was a carpenter, plumber, electrician, and a mechanic. He took his skills to the Helena Vo-Tech and graduated in carpentry in 1991. Ranch life suited him, and he took good care of his animals, and was an excellent horse trainer. Scott descended from athletes on his father side and his mothers' side, therefore excelled in every sport he participated in. He was a state champion runner, a football player, basketball player, a baseball player, and was a champion cyclist. Scott even won the Peaks to Prairie competition near Red Lodge one year. Scott said that it was love at first when he first laid eyes on Velma 30 years ago but was too shy to ask her out. He was so smitten at the time that he campaigned for Velma's father by riding his bike from Billings to Crow Agency with a sign on his back that stated: Vote for Burton Pretty On Top. Then several years later, the opportunity came for them to be together, and Scott proposed right away. They had a wonderful, loving, 8 years together. He was preceded in death by his father Myron Pease, his brother Ken Pease, his grandparents Ashebel & Celeste (Hall) Pease, Dewey & Kathleen (Doyle) Harris, great grandparents: George & Sarah (Walker) Pease. He is survived by his wife Velma (Pretty On Top) Pease, his mother Kathleen Rosie Harris, brothers Gregg & Todd Pease, his daughter Emily Pease, son Charlie (Lori) Tsoodle, nephew Cody (Shay) & Craig (Bambi) Pease, Stephanie (Ben) Nysta, Rebecca Isis Pease, Kaylie Pease, and all his great nephews, nieces and many cousins.
